প্রকাশনার জগতে কোডেক্স প্রথম পা রাখে ১৯৯৮ সালে প্রধানত লাতিন আমেরিকান সাহিত্যের আনুবাদ দিয়ে। সেই ছোট্ট পায়ে চলা শুরু করে কোডেক্স আজ পরিনত প্রকাশনার মনন দিয়ে সাহিত্য, শিক্ষা ও সংস্কৃতির নানা বিষয়ে তার বইয়ের সম্ভারকে প্রসারিত করেছে – বাংলা ও বিদেশি ভাষায় বহুধা বিস্তৃত তার পুস্তক স্তবকের মধ্য দিয়ে। এই সম্ভারে আছে গবেষণা গ্রন্থ, দেশি ও বিদেশি সাহিত্য, প্রাচীন ভারতীয় সমাজ সংস্কৃতি ও পুরাণ, কবিতা, গল্প, রাজনৈতিক আদর্শ এই রকম নানা বৈচিত্র্য। পরিবেশ বিষয়কে বিশেষ গুরুত্ব দিয়ে কোডেক্স ১৯৯৮ সাল থেকেই প্রকাশ করে আসছে ‘সবুজ পৃথিবী’ নামে একটি দ্বি-মাসিক পত্রিকা। এই পত্রিকার উদ্দেশ্য হল পরিবেশ বিজ্ঞান ও সে সম্পর্কে মানুষের মধ্যে সচেতনতার প্রসা্র। সম্প্রতি কোডেক্স পাঠ্য বইও প্রকাশ শুরু করেছে। তবে কোডেক্স বিশ্বাস করে প্রকাশনার গুনগত মানে, প্রকাশনার সংখ্যায় নয়।

About Us

In the world of publication, Codex made its debut in 1998 mainly as a publisher of translation of Latin American literature. During its long journey onwards, the baby step has become matured to develop its publishing programmes catering to the growing and varying information and learning requirements in general. As a variegation of academic culture, Codex publishes books / papers on literature in different languages – native and foreign, on Indian mythology, research work, poems and stories, political thought, etc.

As a special thrust on environment, Codex publishes a bi-monthly magazine in Bengali ‘Sabuj Prithibi’ (with ISSN) since 1998, which covers various issues relating to environment and science to create social awareness. Recently, Codex has also ventured in text book publication. Last but not the least, the Codex family believes in quality not quantity.
